本作は【Human Works】シリーズの最初期の習作です
これらはジェンダー記号[♀]に似ていますが、
人間の姿をシンプルなカタチで表せないものかと模索していました
私の求めたカタチは女性の記号を想起させます
それ故に
「性別に左右されない人間の普遍的な姿、ありのままの状態」
それはどのように表されるだろうか？
そのような疑問を抱くようになりました
性別を示すジェンダー記号[♀]を「〇」と「✕」に解体し
記号を最小単位にしてみました
すると、それは4歳児のラクガキに現れる
彼・彼女らの最初の文字と同じものになりました
わたしたちが幼かったころに初めて書いた文字としての〇と✕
わたしたちが自分自身であることを最大限発揮するための〇と✕
カタチの根源が人間の根源につながるようなイメージを持ちました
自分自身で在ることを最大限発揮する。
自分で在ること以外だれにもなりたくない。
というメッセージを込めた【Human Works】シリーズが誕生することになるのです…
This work is the first study of the 【Human Works】series.
These are similar to the gender symbol [♀],
I was searching for a way to express the human figure in a simple form.
The shape I sought evokes the symbol of a woman.
Therefore
“Universal appearance of human beings regardless of gender, as they are”
How would it be represented?
I came to have such doubts
Dismantling the gender symbol [♀] that indicates gender into "〇" and "✕"
I tried to make the symbol the smallest unit
Then it appears in a 4-year-old's doodle
it is the same as the first letter (alphabet...)
〇 and ✕ as the first letters we wrote when we were young
〇 and ✕ to make the most of who we are
I had an image that the root of the shape is connected to the root of human beings.
Make the most of being yourself.
I don't want to be anyone but to be myself.
The 【Human Works】series was born with the message...
